2016 One-Day Tournament Rules

(Effective January 2016)

1. I/We waive and release all other contestants, sponsors, tournament officials  and the Pennsylvania Striped Bass Association from all claims of injury and/or damage incurred in connection this this tournament. I understand and agree that the Tournament Rules Committee will make the FINAL decision in ALL tournament matters. One-Day tournaments are Member/Guest tournaments. Guests are defined as those who are NOT a PSBA member. Guests must fish with a club member. Guests will be permitted to fish one tournament per tournament year without becoming a member of the PSBA. If a guest wishes to fish more than once per tournament year, they must become a member of the PSBA! NO EXCEPTIONS! This is the responsibility of the boat captain to make sure that their “guest” are legitimate. If a team is in violation of this rule, winnings and points will be forfeited.

2. The minimum size for stripers to be eligible for weigh-in for all tournaments is 26″ inches in length. In attempt to save stripers, any fish lifted from the water and put in the boat must be in good condition before they are returned to the lake. All stripers that are undersized must be unhooked while the fish is still in the water.

3. Tournament results will be based on total weight entered for TWO STRIPERS PER BOAT for all tournaments.Any unclaimed prizes will go the the PSBA striper fishery.

4. One-Day tournaments are meant to offer a less demanding, more relaxing tournament experience for those who may have difficulty fishing regular club tournaments. One-Day tournaments DO NOT count for team or angler points, nor fish ladder points. The tournament point system is only for the 7 Member/Guest tournaments.

5. The entry fee for the One-Day tournaments is $25.00 per boat, regardless of how many contestants are in the boat. Optional $10.00 “Lunker Pool” is also available for those who are interested. If you are fishing with a partner(s) and decide to enter the “Lunker Pool”, all contestants on the boat are required to enter. Fees must be paid in cash, check or money order payable to “Cash”.

6. An optional “Anglers Choice” will be open to those interested. Fee is $5.00 per boat. Any legal catfish, lake trout or walleye is eligible. Only one fish will be weighed in per boat. Payout will be 80%, with 20% going to the PSBA striper  fishery.

7. Registration will be from 5:30 am – 6:00 am prior to the tournament starting time at the designated boat launch. Fishing will commence immediately after registration closes and mandatory captains meeting.

8. Prize payout will be 75%, with the number of places paid out based on the number of boats.

9. All state fishing rules and regulations apply. Any contestant cited for a violation during the tournament will be disqualified and any entry fees forfeited. The tournament committee must be notified by the contestant prior to weigh-in.

10. The final weigh-in time will be determined at the Captain’s meeting. All fish must be in fresh condition with red gills, clear eyes, etc. All protest against any contestant must be presented to the Tournament Committee in writing prior to the commencement of prize money being paid out. Protests will be handled by the tournament committee. The decision of the Tournament Committee is FINAL.
                                          
11. Due to the possibility of severe weather conditions late in the season, the PSBA reserves the right to cancel these tournaments. If weather is going to be bad, call ahead or check our website www.fishpsba.com or our Facebook page.

Annual OPEN Striper Tournament Rules

Raystown Lake – Huntingdon, PA

August 6th – 7th, 2016

1. I/We waive and release all other contestants, sponsors, Tournament Officials and the Pennsylvania Striped Bass Association from all claims of injury and/or damage incurred in connection with this tournament. Contestants also agree that the Tournament Committee will make the final decisions in all tournament matters. This tournament is OPEN to the public, provided that all contestants are in good standing with the PSBA.

2. Entry fee if $50.00 per person. All members of a team MUST fish from one boat. Payout will be 75% of entry fees.

3. There will also be an optional “Lunker Pool”. The cost to enter the “Lunker Pool” is $10.00 per person. If one person on the team enters the “Lunker Pool” all  contestants on that team MUST enter. All monies will be collected Friday night. Entry fees must be in cash, check or money order payable to PSBA. Entry fees are not refundable.

4. The minimum size to weigh-in a striper in this tournament will be 26″ inches in length. Any striper lifted from the water must be in good condition before it can be released. Any undersized fish is to be unhooked while the fish is still in the water. If a fish dies while in your possession , that fish will be a part of your daily limit.

5. This OPEN tournament is based on the total weight of TWO STRIPERS PER BOAT, for the two-day tournament. Any unclaimed prizes will go to the PSBA.

6. Registration will be from 6:00 pm-9:00 pm Friday evening at the Tournament Headquarter. Location to be announced when confirmed. There will be a mandatory Captain’s meeting at 9:00pm following the registration for updates.

7. Non-contestants will NOT be permitted on your boat during tournament hours.

8. The lake is OFF LIMITS during registration hours and Captain’s meeting – NO EXCEPTIONS!! “Off Limits” means your boat is either on the trailer or is on the bank in a no-wake zone. There will be no catching of bait or lines out while the lake is “Off Limits”. Contestants violating any tournament rules will be disqualified and all entry fees will be forfeited.

9. All Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission rules and regulations will apply. Any contestant cited for any violation during tournament must notify a Tournament Committee member prior to final weigh-in. The Tournament Committee will decide on disqualification based on violation. Any contestant disqualified will forfeit all entry fees.

10. All stripers must be caught during tournament hours, and must have been caught by the team presenting the fish to be weighed in. Anyone caught swapping fish will be disqualified and banned from future tournaments.

11. No live bait may be brought into the state of PA! All bait MUST be netted from Raystown Lake. A cast net permit must be in the possession of the person doing the netting. Purchased baitfish with a receipt is allowed . Someone may give you bait, but you can only possess 50 baits without a net permit

12.Tournament starting time will be immediately following the Captain’s meeting Friday night. When the Captain’s meeting is over you are free to begin fishing.

13. There is no specific time to quit fishing. Weigh-in will be held on Sunday at 12:00 pm noon. Location to be announced when confirmed. A registered team member must be either signed in(or in line to sign-in) to weigh fish in by 12:00 pm sharp. If you are not there by 12:00 pm or in line you will not be permitted to weigh-in. You must judge your time needed to get from the lake to the tournament headquarters.

14. All stripers must be in good condition. They must have red gills, clear eyes, etc. They must be on ice and in coolers to be brought to the weigh station. Any striper in question is subjected to being cut open and the meat inspected. Keep them on ice!! It is your responsibility to take good care of the fish you catch. The Tournament Committee will make the final decision regarding the condition of the fish.
                                          
15. All protests against any contestant must be presented in writing to the Tournament Committee prior to the presentation of awards. The Tournament Committee will handle protests.

16. ALL DECISIONS OF THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE ARE FINAL!

PSBA – American Cancer Society

Striped Bass Tournament Rules

1. This tournament will benefit the American Cancer Society and will provide an opportunity for cancer patients/survivors to fish as a “guest” of boat captains who will host them. Designated cancer patients/survivors will not be required to possess a PA fishing license for this event, thanks to a waiver from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.

2. I/We waive and release all other contestants, sponsors, tournament officials and the Pennsylvania Striped Bass Association from all claims of injury and/or damage incurred in connection with this tournament. I understand and agree that the Tournament Rules Committee will make the final decision in all tournament matters.

3. The minimum size for stripers to be eligible for weigh-in is 26″ inches in length. In attempt to save stripers, and fish lifted from the water and put in the boat must be in good condition before they are returned to the lake. All stripers that are undersized should be unhooked while the fish is still in the water.

4. Tournament results will be based on the total weight entered for  TWO STRIPERS PER BOAT.

5. Entry fee for this tournament is $25.00 per person. Entry fees for the cancer patient/survivor “guests” are also optional. However, the number of rods allowed to be fished will be based on paid entry fees. (3 rods per paid entry)

6. Optional $10.00 “Lunker Pool” is also available. “Lunker” fees for cancer patients/survivors “guests” are also optional. If a team decides to join the “Lunker Pool”, only those who have paid entry fees are obligated to pay “Lunker” fees also. This will be paid out at 50% and 50% going to the American Cancer Society.

7. Registration is from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Friday Sept. 24th, 2016. Location to be announced when confirmed. Those who wish may begin fishing after the mandatory captains meeting following the sign-up.

8. Prize payout will be 50%, with 50% going to the American Cancer Society. The Tournament Committee will decide how many places will be paid out.

9. Except for the fishing license requirement listed above, all state fishing rules and regulations apply. Any contestant cited for a violation during the tournament will be disqualified and all fees paid will be forfeited.

10. The final weigh-in time will be at 6:00 pm, Saturday at the designated place to be announced when confirmed, unless changed at the Captain’s meeting. All fish must be in fresh condition with red gills, clear eyes, etc. All protest against any contestant must be presented to the Tournament Committee in writing prior to the commencement of prize money being paid out. Protests will be handled by the Tournaments Committee. The decision of the Tournament Committee is final.
